3-2-1 Lesson Reflection

3 Things that I learnt
1. The one child policy is not only a bad thing like I used to think. There are advantages too, like the child will be able to have better education, etc.

2. Singapore used to have a two child only policy. I did not think that Singaporenwould have such a policy because we are currently facing a problem of low birthrate.

3. China's one child policy has caused a great rise in the number of baby boys, as parents want to give birth to boys to pass on the family name. Since they are only allowed to have one child, they will abort the female baby. This may cause population problems, as there are too many males, compared to females.

2 Perceptions I gained
1. Somethings that might seem wrong or bad to us, may actually be done for a good cause, and we should find out what the reasons are before jumping to conclusions. After all, he or she may have a good reason as to why they did that. We should look at things from different point of views.

2. There are always pros and cons to everything we choose to do. For example, the government made the one child policy, saying that the child will be able to get better things, like education, but did not think about the negative consequences this policy might bring.

1 Question I have
1. Are there any other countries that have policies to help control the country's population?
