The picture that I chose is a picture of RVians performing during RV60 as this is “extra in the ordinary” for me. The RV 60 performance may have seemed like a normal performance to any stranger, parent, etc. However, to us RVians, the RV60 performance was not just any performance. It was a celebration for our school’s 60th anniversary, and we had worked extra hard to make it happen, together as a school. We had stayed back till late in the afternoon and evening, practicing and making sure that nothing would go wrong on the preview and the actual day itself.
During rehearsals and the day of the preview, minor mistakes were made but we corrected them and learnt from them, ensuring that the same mistake would never occur again.
On the night if RV60 itself, all of us were nervous as we waited for the performance to begin. It had also been raining not too long ago, thus making the rain one of our many concerns. However, not a single drop of rain fell from the sky and the performance went smoothly. After the performance all of us rushed to take photos with one another, and we were all given free ice-cream, bread and milo. The Alumni were also let into the hall for their dinner, and Mrs. Teo, the principal, made her speech there. RV60 was an extremely memorable event for all of us as we all worked hard together as a school to celebrate our school’s one and only 60th anniversary. This is an “extra in the ordinary” event for me as for strangers, this might have seemed as an ordinary event, an ordinary performance, but to us RVians, this was an extraordinary event that would not have happened if not for all our hard work that we were willing to put in.

ReplyDeleteI agree that RV60 was unique and we would only experience once in our lifetime.
